Neville Brody is an English graphic designer, typographer and art director who was born on April 23rd, 1957 in London. He was also one of the first to find fontworks and also designed a lot of typefaces. Neville aslo designed alot of famous logos such as the macromedia and shockwave logos. The macromedia logo includes a lot of bold and rounded font for all the lettering. The design of the macromedia shockwave is also in a rounded design same as the font. The colours of the logo orange and red make the logo strong and bold and also keep the viewers focused on the image more. The font of macromedia is in a simple fine font then changes to a caps view on shockwave. I like the way the logo is set out and the layout of the logo because the neville uses a bold round font for the text which makes it more appealing to the viewer.
Neville brody has also designed the Nike just do it logo which is a worldwide seller until today. In this design Neville has used a two toned font in white and black to make it stand out clearly to the viewers. Neville has also used a very bold fine font to the lettering of the text. He has also used the colour red for the Nike logo in the corner of the image to make it more clear from all the rest of the text and images. Neville has designed some of the lettering in a bolder and a bigger font than the rest of the text. Neville’s designs mostly include bold textured lettering to make his points clear. I really like the two tone colour to the text that Neville has used because it has a really bold look to the image.
Neville used a lot of techniques of typography which also emphasised a lot of other designers. The newest experimental form of typography Neville used was the fuse technique. The poster includes a large sized number 3 for the background to make it stand out on the poster. Neville researched many techniques were he also created a lot of his own pieces. I like the background layout that Neville uses in his work because he thinks of his ideas a lot and brings a more emphasising look to art instead of just a simple design with a simplistic font.
