David Carson

David Carson is an American graphic designer and also best known for his magazine designs because of his experimental typography. He was the art director of the magazine ray gun. The ray gun title that David Carson designed used the colour red because he wanted to make the magazine stand out more than the rest. The text used strong lettering which was mostly bold and fine. Some of the lettering on the magazine was upside down maybe to show the personality of Carson himself. The layout was complex because it varied from time to time. The style that David has used on the magazine is a tricky one because it uses lots of different fonts. He has done this to show different styles to the magazine.

David Carson used different lettering in different fonts these are some of the fonts that he has used and been successful in. the fonts that he has used has different font sizes and fonts to vary the lettering. David Carson used inline fonts to make the text look better than just a flat font. I love the way that Carson uses the different types of lettering sizes and fonts to show a different technique to designs and art.

The layout of the image shows a face made out of lettering of different fonts and sizes. Carson uses different shades of dark and light on the face of the image in lettering of dark purple and light purple which creates a realistic look to the image. Carson also uses small lettering to get all the detail out onto the face. This image is an amazing piece of work by David Carson which evolves the way of the art world to another level. The way the lettering is laid out is beautiful and keeps me shocked in the way such an idea could have been designed.
